Range, Stove, Cooktop & Oven Repair in Hallandale Beach

When the oven runs cold the week you're hosting, or a cooktop burner dies with dinner half-prepped, you want someone local who can come today — not a brand call center offering a slot in two weeks. Norma Appliance Repair fixes ranges, stoves, cooktops, and wall ovens across Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, and the surrounding southeast Broward and north Miami-Dade area. Electric, induction, and gas; freestanding, slide-in, and built-in. Licensed and insured in Florida, open 7 days, tiered warranty — parts up to 10 years on sealed-system welds, 2 years mechanical, 1 year electronics — and 90 days on labor.

Call (954) 775-8660 — and if you smell gas, leave the unit off, ventilate, and call your gas provider first.

The calls we run most

Oven won't reach temperature, or runs hot/cold

Bake elements, temperature sensors, and control calibration. An oven that's 40-50°F off ruins recipes quietly for months before anyone tests it.

One burner dead on an electric or induction cooktop

Radiant elements, burner switches, or an induction module that no longer detects cookware. Induction repairs are board-level work — we do them.

Glass cooktop cracked or scorched

Cooktop glass is replaceable on most models, and on a slide-in range it's far cheaper than a new unit.

Oven door won't close, lock stuck after self-clean

Door hinges, springs, gaskets, and door-lock motors. The post-self-clean lockout is practically its own service category.

Error codes on the display

Modern ranges are computers with heating elements attached; control boards and relay boards fail, especially after the power blips of a South Florida storm season.

Convection fan noisy or dead

Fan motors and blades — straightforward, and worth fixing for how much of the oven's performance depends on them.

Gas burners clicking forever or not lighting

Igniters, spark modules, and clogged burner ports on the homes and low-rise buildings in our area that do have gas service.

What to expect from the visit

1. Call (954) 775-8660

with the brand, fuel type, and symptom. Error codes from the display are gold — have them ready if you can.

2. Diagnosis and a written quote

Call for current diagnostic pricing; nothing starts until you've approved the number.

3. Repair — usually same visit

Elements, sensors, igniters, switches, and hinges are standard truck stock. Brand-specific boards may need ordering; you'll get the honest lead time.

4. Temperature verification

We confirm the oven actually holds its setpoint before we pack up — not just that the display says so.

5. Tiered warranty

on labor and the parts we installed.

Cooking equipment, condo edition

East of US-1, the kitchens we service have their own profile:

  • All-electric buildings. Most towers in Hallandale, Sunny Isles, and Aventura have no gas — so it's radiant electric and, increasingly, induction. We carry the diagnostic gear for both, including the power-module testing induction demands.
  • Induction conversions. New owners renovating older condo kitchens often install induction cooktops on circuits that are marginal for the load. We can tell you whether the fault is the appliance or the supply before you pay for parts.
  • Slide-in ranges and built-in wall ovens dominate renovated kitchens. Wall-oven work means careful extraction from cabinetry — padding, the right lifts, and patience are part of the job.
  • High-end suites — Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele — are common from Golden Beach down through Aventura. These are precision instruments worth repairing essentially every time; replacement costs make the math easy.
  • Salt air and humidity corrode burner contacts and igniter terminals on units near open balconies. Intermittent burner faults near the ocean are corrosion until proven otherwise.

Brands we repair

Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Miele, Bosch, GE and GE Monogram, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Electrolux, JennAir, Café, Dacor, Bertazzoni, Maytag, Kenmore, and most other major brands — freestanding and slide-in ranges, radiant and induction cooktops, gas cooktops, single and double wall ovens.

Getting the most from your cooking equipment

A few practices keep ranges and ovens out of the repair queue — and make the eventual service visit cheaper:

  • Skip the self-clean cycle before holidays. The extreme heat of self-clean is the single most common trigger for door-lock and control failures, and it loves to strike the week you need the oven most. Clean manually in November; self-clean in January if you must.
  • Don't slam glass cooktop cookware. Most "spontaneous" glass cracks start as an unnoticed impact chip. Cast iron and glass tops can coexist, but gently.
  • Keep induction cookware honest. If pans have warped bases, the pan-detection electronics work harder and heating gets uneven — sometimes what looks like a cooktop fault is a $30 pan.
  • Mind the door gasket. A torn oven gasket leaks heat, stretches preheat times, and cooks the control panel above the door. It's a quick, inexpensive replacement.
  • After any power outage, watch the first few uses. Boards weakened by a surge tend to fail within weeks — catching it early keeps the diagnosis simple.

Frequently asked questions

My oven temperature seems off. How do you actually fix that?

We verify with a calibrated probe, then trace the cause: a drifting temperature sensor, a weak bake element, or control calibration. Most cases close in one visit, and you get an oven that bakes the way the dial promises.

Do you repair induction cooktops?

Yes. Induction faults are usually in the power modules and pan-detection electronics rather than anything visible. We diagnose at board level and can also tell you when the real problem is the circuit feeding the unit — common in older condo renovations.

The oven door locked itself after self-clean and won't open. Help?

Very common. The door-lock motor or thermal switch failed during the high-heat cycle. Don't pry the door — the lock assembly is replaceable, the door isn't meant to win that fight. We'll free it and replace the failed part.

Is a cracked glass cooktop repairable, or is the whole unit done?

Repairable on most models — the glass top is a replaceable assembly. Pricing depends on brand and availability; we'll quote it against replacement cost so you can decide with real numbers.

Do you service gas ranges? My building doesn't have gas but my house does.

Yes — igniters, spark modules, valves, and burner service on gas ranges in the single-family neighborhoods of Hollywood, Dania Beach, Davie, and Miramar. If you ever smell gas, ventilate and call your gas utility before anyone touches the appliance. Norma Appliance Repair — range, cooktop & oven repair, 7 days a week. Call (954) 775-8660.
